Medusa has long been a symbol of power, strength, and encouragement to those that have been victim to such abuse, whether completed or attempted, and domestic violence.
1 in 6 women have been the victim of an assualt.
82% of juvenile assaults take place against females.
90% of adult assaults take place against females.
33% of those victims contemplate suicide. 13% of those women actually attempt.
94% of women assualted experience symptoms of PTSD durting the two weeks following the assault. And 30% of those women experience those symptoms for more than 9 months following their attack.
70% of assault victims exerience moderate to severe distress, which is a larger percentage than any other violent crime.
*15% of the proceeds from the sale of these shirts will be donated to HomeSafe. This is a local non-profit organization in Middle TN that supports victims. They have locations in Sumner, Robertson, and Wilson counties. Their mission is to provide safety and support to people impacted by domestic and sexual abuse, to foster survivors healing and empowerment, and to promote nonviolence and social justice in our community.
